Fear of the Unknown

Bible Reading: Matthew 6:34

Do you worry about the future? Does the thought of facing the unknown scare you or make you nervous?

I know I get worried and afraid sometimes.

But, if you have accepted Christ as your Savior and are sincerely living to please Him, as I have, you can confidently toss those worries and fears aside. God promises to be with you and me no matter what uncertainties you face. In Matthew 6:34 Jesus said, “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Jesus doesn’t want us to worry or be afraid. He wants us to trust Him…and we can trust Him.

Jesus won’t allow any of His faithful followers to become accidentally separated from Him. He won’t allow Himself to become accidentally separated from us. Jesus won’t intentionally abandon us. He will always be there right beside us to giving us the courage to face the unknown and the power to cope with it. He will hold our hands, put His arms around us, even carry us if need be. Jesus will never, ever allow anyone or anything to separate us from Him or take us away from Him!

No matter how uncertain, how unstable, how scary the unknown of the future may seem, as a child of God, we have the all-powerful, ever-present God of the Universe – your Heavenly Father – to see us through. So, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7).

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38 & 39

Prayer: Heavenly Father, sometimes not knowing what is next is scary and overwhelming. I’m so glad You are always with me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
