Bible Reading: Genesis 1:27
Which is more important – an elephant or a shark?
Both animals were created by God and placed in the environment that is best suited for
them. Both animals have roles to play in the balance of life, roles specially chosen for them by God.
Even so, the elephant and the shark are different, unique creations. One lives on land, the other in water. One eats plants, the other meat. Neither animal is more important than the other one. They are equal, yet different.
Elephants, sharks, and other animals aren’t the only things that God created. Genesis 1:27 tells us that “…God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” Men and women were also created by God to be unique creations. God created both men and women to worship Him and serve Him and each other, but He created them to do that in different ways. God has given men and women each a different role to play in life. Neither is better or more important to God than the other. In God’s eyes, men and women are equal, yet different.
“For God does not show favoritism.” Romans 2:11
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for creating me in just the right way. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
