Do You Have Trouble Letting Go of Your Past? Let God Give You Some Reassurance

Bible Reading: Colossians 1:22-23a

Do you have trouble letting go of your past? Are you afraid that God will still punish you for your past mistakes? Do you wonder if God has truly forgiven you?

Let Paul’s words in today’s Bible verses encourage you! In these verses Paul said, “But now he has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation – if you continue in your faith, established and firm, not moved from the hope held out in the gospel.”

If you’ve sincerely told God that you know you’ve sinned and asked Him to forgive you, He has forgiven you. Your past mistakes are past. God has erased them; blotted them out without a trace. Those sins are gone forever and God will never bring them up again.

Read and memorize today’s scripture (above) and the following verses. Let God, Himself, reassure you of your salvation:

“For we know, brothers loved by God, that he has chosen you” (1 Thessalonians 1:4).

“The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children” (Romans 8:16).

“Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is” (1 John 3:2).

“Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The LORD, the LORD, is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation” (Isaiah 12:2).

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for leaving my past in the past. Help me to do the same. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
