Bible Reading: 2 Corinthians 9:12-15
“The greatest gift you will ever receive will never be found under a Christmas tree. It is far too valuable to be stored in any other place but in the depths of your heart.” – Anonymous
What is the gift that this anonymous writer was speaking about? This gift is a one-of-a-kind, irreplaceable gift. It is a priceless gift. It is unique. It fits everyone perfectly. It is the perfect gift for everybody. This gift is the grace of God made visible through the gospel of Jesus Christ.
God loves us. He loves us so much that He sent His only Son, His perfect Son, Jesus to live in this world, be persecuted, harassed, ridiculed, mistreated, and murdered so that He could give us His grace and His forgiveness and so we could live an eternal life with Him.
How are we to respond to this gift – the greatest gift of all?
Admit that we want this gift. Admit that we need this gift. Confess our sins. State our belief that Jesus is the Son of God who came into the world to do what we couldn’t do for ourselves – obey God perfectly – then die to take the punishment that should have been ours.
“Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!” (2 Corinthians 9:15)
Have you accepted the greatest gift of all? If not, it is waiting for you! Please accept it now!
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.” Ephesians 2:8
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for the greatest gift of all, the gift of salvation by grace through faith in Jesus. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
