Bible Reading: Romans 8:38 & 39
In today’s discussion of “The Christmas Creed” we will consider the line which says, “I believe in the one who proclaimed the love of God to be invincible…”
Jesus’ purpose in coming to live with us on earth was to help us understand the power and depth of God’s love. Our Heavenly Father loves us deeply! So deeply that He chose to sacrifice His only Son in our place for our sins.
God’s love didn’t stop with that amazing gift. God’s love is unconditional. God loves us no matter what. God’s love is also unending and unbeatable, or as the creed said it, invincible. Romans 8:38 & 39 say it like this: “Yes, I am sure that nothing can separate us from God’s love – not death, life, angels, or ruling spirits. I am sure that nothing now, nothing in the future, no powers, nothing above us or nothing below us—nothing in the whole created world – will ever be able to separate us from the love God has shown us in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
God’s love for us is powerful. God’s love for us is forever!
Let’s take time this Christmas season to sit back, ponder, and celebrate God’s unending, unbeatable love for us.
“Lord, your faithful love reaches to the sky. Your faithfulness is as high as the clouds.” Psalm 36:5
Prayer: Heavenly Father, Your love for us is amazing! It’s hard to understand deep, eternal, and unbeatable it is, I am so grateful for it! In Jesus’ name. Amen.
