Bible Reading: Titus 2:12-14
Today is the last day in our series based on “The Christmas Creed.” Here’s the last part of the creed: “I believe in God who gives us the best of himself. I believe in Jesus,
the son of the living God, born in Bethlehem this night, for me and the world.”
Titus 2:14 says that Jesus Christ, the second person of the Godhead, “…gave himself for us. He died to free us from all evil. He died to make us pure—people who belong only to him and who always want to do good.” Jesus, God, gave Himself for us. Jesus, God, sacrificed Himself, suffering humiliation and death on the cross for us, in our place. There was nothing better that God could give. There was nothing more valuable or precious that God could sacrifice. God gave His best for us!
I hope you have enjoyed this series. We don’t know who wrote “The Christmas Creed,” but it is rich in truth about Jesus, how we should respond to Him, and how precious He is. I hope it has made you think. I hope it has drawn you closer to Jesus.
Let’s all pause and give thanks to God for Jesus, God’s“…gift that is too wonderful to describe” (2 Corinthians 9:15).
Have a blessed Christmas!
“Yes, God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him would not be lost but have eternal life.” John 3:16
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for Jesus! There truly is nothing better or more precious that You could have given me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
