Christmas Creed - Part 11

Bible Reading: Ephesians 1:1-10

The Bible teaches that we are all sinners. We are all separated from God because of our disobedient and rebellious nature.

However, in our last devotion, we discovered that God loves us anyway. We learned that God sees us as His special, beloved children.

The bad news is that our sin nature has created a wall between us and God. Our sin nature prevents us from living in God’s presence for eternity.

“The Christmas Creed” gives us the good news saying, “I believe in the one… who by love brought sinners back to purity...” God wasn’t satisfied to leave us to be controlled by our own weaknesses and sin nature. God had a plan to save us from our hopeless situation.

The amazing truth is that God had this plan before the world was created! Ephesians 1:5 says, “And before the world was made, God decided to make us his own children through Jesus Christ. This was what God wanted, and it pleased him to do it.” Before God even created us, He knew we would sin and He created a plan to rescue us from our sin! He made a way for us to be free from our sin nature and be made pure, holy, and pleasing to God.

God sent His perfect, sinless Son, Jesus, to be punished in our place for our sin. When we confess and turn from our sin and believe in Jesus, we are rescued from our sin nature and made pure and holy in God’s eyes.

If you are delaying accepting Jesus, remember, God loves you! It pleased Him to send Jesus to die for you. It will please Him even more if you make Jesus your Lord and Savior so you can live with Him forever. No one could love us more than God loves us!

“God planned to save us from the punishment of sin through our Lord Jesus Christ. He did not plan for us to suffer from His anger. He died for us so that, dead or alive, we will be with Him.” 1 Thessalonians 5:9 & 10

Prayer:Heavenly Father, thank You for rescuing us from our sin and making us pure and holy through our faith in Jesus. In Jesus’ name.Amen.
