Called to Live a Pure and Faultless Life

Bible Reading: James 1:27

James 1:27 says, “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted

by the world.”

Does God really expect our worship to be pure and faultless?

Yes!

How can we as imperfect people, people who are full-of-faults, worship God in a way with which no one can find fault or complaint?

First, Reach out to God. Actively pray, read the Bible, and listen for God’s voice. Spend time alone with God often every day.

Second, Reach out to other people. Consistently put other people’s needs before your own. Help people and put their needs before your own. Treat other people with love and kindness. Pray for them and share the Gospel with them.

No one – not God nor people – can honestly complain or find fault with your lifestyle of worship if you are doing these things. Your life will be a continual sacrifice of worship and your worship will be pure and faultless.

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.” Romans 12:1

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I want to be busy worshipping and serving You by reaching out to You and other people. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
