Believing the Unbelievable

Bible Reading: Matthew 7:28, 29a

The Bible says some amazing, almost unbelievable things. It speaks of seas and flooded rivers becoming ground dry enough to walk on. It tells of man who was over nine feet tall. It

describes a serpent and a donkey that talked with people, oil and flour that weren’t used up, dead people coming back to life, and many other “unbelievable” occurences..

It can be difficult to believe that such odd things could really happen; yet, they did. We can believe that the Bible is true and accurate because Jesus believed it. Jesus taught from the Old Testament and quoted it many times. (The Old Testament was the only part of the Bible that had been written at that time.) The crowds around him, including the religious experts, “were amazed at his teaching, because he taught as one who had authority…”

Jesus would never lead us astray. If He believed that the Bible was God’s word, we can trust Him and believe it, too. We can believe the unbelievable!

“The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul. The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The precepts of the LORD are right, giving joy to the heart.” Psalm 19:7 & 8

Bible Reading: Heavenly Father, I will take You at your word because I trust You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
