Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 4:10a
Is it foolish to believe in God? Would only a fool believe that Jesus could be nailed to a cross, run through with a spear, and be officially declared dead, only to come back to life
three days later and be seen by hundreds of people? Would only a fool admit that he was a sinner in need of God’s forgiveness? Is it a fool who willing hands over control of his life to an all-powerful God?
The Apostle Paul thought so. In 1 Corinthians 4, Paul wrote to the people of the Church in Corinth. He described himself and the other apostles like this in verse 10, “We are fools for Christ…”
Paul knew that anyone who became a “fool” by turning his or her life over to Christ would receive amazing blessings and rewards, including:
* Forgiveness of all of his sins.
* Eternal life in paradise.
* An eternity in God’s presence.
* A position as an heir to the throne of God.
* Unimaginable riches.
* Many crowns as rewards.
* The privilege of worshipping God with the angels.
If that’s being a “fool,” then I’m a fool.
Won’t you join me and be a “fool for Christ,” too?
“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:18
Prayer: Heavenly Father, forgive my sins and come into my life. Make into a “fool” for Christ. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
