Bible Reading: Isaiah 55:8
When something goes wrong or you get some bad news, how do you react?
* Do you immediately expect the worst?
* Do you look for someone to blame?
* Do you become angry or panicky?
* Do you blame God?
Bad events and bad news will never be fun, but they can be less traumatic if we take a step back and look at the situation from a different viewpoint -–God'’ viewpoint.
We can’t totally see things as God sees them or understand them as God understands them, because we aren’t all-knowing like God. In fact, In Isaiah 55:8 God says, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways.” However, if we are willing to trust God, to believe that He knows what He is doing, and that everything He does or allows to happen has a purpose, God will work everything out for the best for those who love and obey Him. If we sincerely believe that, we can have a glimpse of God’s view, and when we get a glimpse of God’s view, we begin to act and react differently, even in situations that we don’t like or don’t totally understand.
What steps are you taking to line up your wants and your plans with God’s will and plan?
“How great is God-beyond our understanding…” Job 36:26a
Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to understand Your ways and trust Your ways even when I don’t understand them. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
