Bible Reading: Luke 12:18-20
Do you believe that you can take care of yourself, that you don’t need anyone else’s help?
That’s what the man in today’s verse thought. He was sure that he had everything in his life under control. So much so, that he forgot God’s part in building his fortune. In Luke 12:18 & 19 the man said, “This is what I'll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. And I'll say to myself, you have plenty of good things laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.” Sadly, he learned the hard way that everything he had, he only had because God allowed him to have it. If he had only taken time to recognize God part in providing for him and had thanked God, maybe his life would have had a different ending.
Have you remembered to give God credit for everything that you have? Have you thanked Him and let Him know that you appreciate His part in your life?
“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Colossians 3:17
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You. I appreciate what You’ve done for me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
