Wednesday at the Well: Hebrews 12:1-3 - Simplify

Bible Verses to Explore: Hebrews 12:1-3

How busy are you? Suppose God called you right now on the telephone. Would you need to put him on hold? Would you like to have more time and energy to use to serve

God? Maybe you need to simplify. How?

Hebrews 12:1b gives us the answer: “We should remove from our lives anything that would slow us down and the sin that so often makes us fall.”

What does that verse mean?

First, decide what is really important to you and to God.

Next, give away or throw away any things that use time and energy and distracts you from serving God.

Third, stop spending time with people who distract you from serving God. Instead, spend time with people who help you to serve and obey God.

Finally, stop doing any activities that use the time you should be using to do God’s work.

I hope you will remove from your life of all of the things, people, and events that stop you from serving God then focus on Jesus and doing His work and follow Paul’s advice in 1 Corinthians 15:58 – “So, my dear brothers and sisters, stand strong. Don't let anything change you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord. You know that your work in the Lord is never wasted.”

Let’s pray together. Heavenly Father, help us to simplify our lives and to focus on You and Your work. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
