Bible Reading: 1 John 1:7, 8
Who are you trying to kid? You aren’t perfect (neither am I). You need Jesus to save you, God to direct your life, and the Holy Spirit to give you the strength, patience, courage,
knowledge, and wisdom to follow God’s instructions.
Take charge of your attitude. Let others see your flaws and struggles. Show them your willingness to praise and worship God in spite of your shortcomings. Allow others to see that you trust God to help you over come your imperfections and use you just as you are, flaws included, while you are growing and changing for the better. Let them see you turning to God for what you need to overcome whatever temptation you are struggling with. Let them see you living the 1 John 7 & 8 way. This verse says, “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.”
Living in such an honest, straightforward way could be just the genuine example your friends need to be willing to trust Christ as Savior themselves.
“To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.” 1 Peter 2:21
Prayer: Heavenly Father, direct me and give me what I need to honestly obey You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
