At Loose Ends

Bible Reading: Colossians 3:14

When you weave a hot pad on a small loom, the end of each loop is hooked onto a peg. The loops are then woven over and under other loops and hooked on a peg on the

opposite end of the loom.

When you’ve finished hooking all of the loops onto the loom, the square hot pad is woven, but if you unhook the ends of the loops from the pegs, the whole square will unravel – the ends are loose. If you want the hot pad to hold together, you need to tuck the ends of the loops one inside the other, linking them together to create a strong, usable hot pad.

Do you have a friend who is “at loose ends,” not sure what to do with his or her life? Link that friend to God through your prayers and words of encouragement. How?

Share God’s love. Colossians 3:14 says, “And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.” It is God’s love that binds us permanently to Him. When we share that love with others, our love and perseverance on behalf of that person can help bring that person to a moment of choosing to bind himself or herself to God by accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior.

Ask God to help you share His perfect love with others. Pray that He will use that love to draw them to Himself so they can be bound to Him in perfect love.

“This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.” 1 John 4:9

Prayer: Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your uniting me to You in perfect unity. Help me to love others so they will want to be united with You as well. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
