Wednesday at the Well: Psalm 9:12-14 - Secret Sin

Bible Verses to Explore: Psalm 9:12-14

Take a few minutes and think about your deepest secret, something that no one knows about you. Is it something that makes you feel proud or ashamed? Do you keep

your secret hidden because it is embarrassing? Suppose the person who loves you most discovered your secret? How would you feel?

The person who loves you most, God, already knows your secret. God knows all there is to know about you, even your deepest, darkest secret – and He loves you anyway. Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 says, “The most important thing a person can do is to respect God and obey his commands, because he knows about everything people do—even the secret

things. He knows about all the good and all the bad, and he will judge people for everything.”

Regardless of what you’ve done, good things, bad things, embarrassing things, God loves you so much that He sent Jesus, His only Son to die on a cross for you. Jesus was judged in your place. Jesus was punished for you.

Be honest with God. Talk to Him. Tell Him your worst failures, your deepest, darkest secrets. Ask His forgiveness. He will forgive you, because He loves you more than anyone else in the world loves you. How can I be certain of that? Because Romans 5:8 tells us so saying, “But Christ died for us while we were still sinners, and by this God showed how much he loves us.”

Let’s pray together. Heavenly Father, We’ve done some things that we are ashamed and embarrassed to admit that we’ve done. Forgive us. Make us clean and give us a new beginning through Jesus. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Thanks for praying with me! I invite you to click the Inductive Bible Study image to download a copy of the Inductive Bible Study Guide so you can use it as a guide as you look more closely at today’s scripture. Enjoy!

God bless!
