There's Always a Way Out

Updated: Mar 25, 2020

Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 10:13

Have you ever done a maze puzzle where you have to weave through what seems like endless twists and turns and dead-end paths to get through the maze and to the

reward at the end?

When you are in the middle of the maze, it can seem as if there is no way out, as if you will be lost forever in the midst of confusion. Eventually, however, the confusion ends and you find the way out of the maze. The key is to look for the way out and not stay focused on the confusion in the middle of the maze.

When you are in the midst of a situation that is tempting you to do something that you know is wrong, it can feel like being lost in that confusing maze with no way out. However, just like there is always a way out of that maze, God always provides a way out of tempting situations. That is the promise we have in 1 Corinthains 10:13 which says, “No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.” The key is to look for the way out that God has provided and not stay focused on the confusion of the situation.

“Because he [Jesus] himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.” Hebrews 2:18

Prayer: Heavenly Father, show me the way out of the maze of temptation. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
