Let Your Light Shine!

Updated: Mar 25, 2020

Bible Reading: Luke 8:38 & 39

Luke 8:38 & 39 tell us about a man that Jesus healed from demon possession. After Jesus healed him, Jesus told the man to go home, but, instead he “went away and told all

over town how much Jesus had done for him.” The man couldn’t help himself. He was so happy at what Jesus had done for him that he wanted to tell everyone about Jesus.

Sometimes, we want to be like that man and tell our friends and family about Jesus, but we aren’t sure where to start. Here’s an idea.

For the next few weeks, pay extra close attention to the sermons and Sunday school lessons at church. Then look for specific ways to put those lessons in to action in your everyday life.

Once you have put what you learned at church into practical use, you will begin to see God actively participating in your life. When that happens, tell your friends and family how God has made your life better and how what you learned in church allowed God to improve your life.

In time, your friends and family begin to see the benefits of making Jesus a part of their lives. That is what it means to let your light shine!

“In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16

Prayer: Heavenly Father, work through my life to reach my friends and family with Your salvation message. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
