Error-Free

Bible Reading: Psalm 19:7-11

People have all kinds of reasons for rejecting Jesus. One reason some people give is their mistaken belief that the Bible is full of contradictions and errors.

The fact is, since God himself says the Bible is His message to us – and God can’t lie – we can completely trust the Bible and believe that it is error-free. Psalm 19:7 tells us “The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul. The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple.”

We can be confident that the Bible is perfect and true because God “is perfect” (Matthew 5:48) and “it is impossible for God to lie” (Hebrews 6:18).

If you find something in the Bible that is confusing or seems to contradict something found elsewhere in the Bible, do an in-depth study of that passage, (something most people don’t take the time to do), and find out what that passage and the “contradicting” passage really have to say. When you do, you will clear up the confusion and be able to confidently believe that the Bible never contradicts itself.

“The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever. The ordinances of the LORD are sure and altogether righteous.” Psalm 19:9

Prayer: Heavenly Father, teach me. Help me to understand all the wonderful things in Your word. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
