Bible Verses to Explore: Revelation 21
Today is the last installment in our three-part series on Heaven. We talked about heaven in general and took a peek at the things that won’t be in heaven. Now, let’s wrap
up by focusing on all of the wonderful things that WILL be in heaven.
When was the last time you thought about all the things that will be waiting for you when you get to heaven? Has it been a while? Maybe you’ve never thought about it. God has some wonderful things planned for us, including:
* A free home (John 14:1-3).
* A new body (1 Corinthians 15:43 & 44).
* Perfect peace (1 Corinthians 14:33).
* A crown of life (James 1:12 & Revelation 2:10).
* An imperishable crown for overcoming our old nature and enduring persecution and trials (1 Corinthians 9:24 & 25).
* A crown of rejoicing (1 Thessalonians 2:19).
* A crown of righteousness for eagerly looking forward to Christ’s return (2 Timothy 4:8).
* A crown of glory for shepherding the flock of God and faithfully waiting for Jesus' appearing (1 Peter 5:4).
We will also be like Jesus.
Best of all, we will get to be with God and feel his unconditional, never-ending love all the time.
How can you be sure that you will get to go to heaven and receive all of these things? There is only one way:
* Admit that you’ve sinned.
* Believe that Jesus died in your place.
* Ask Jesus to forgive you and take control of your life.
Are you ready to make your reservation for heaven now? I hope so. I hope you will keep in mind the promise found in 1 Corinthians 2:9: “However, it is written: ‘No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him.’”
Wow! This article has a lot of scripture verse in it! I hope you will download the Inductive Study Guide and explore a few of them more deeply.
Let’s pray together. Heavenly Father, thank You for all of the wonderful things that You’ve promised we will find in heaven. Make our hearts right with You as we confess our sins and claim Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior so we will be granted entrance to that great and glorious eternal life that You have prepared for us in heaven. In Jesus' name. Amen.
