Keep Growing

Updated: Mar 25, 2020

Bible Reading: 1 Peter 2:2-3

Have you ever seen a 37 or 97 year old person suddenly begin growing taller, sprout new hair, or cut new teeth?

Have you ever seen an end of the summer garden suddenly begin to flourish and produce more flowers or vegetables?

Physical growth doesn’t happen to adults or fully developed plants. It happens to children and seedlings.

No matter our earthly age, as Christians, we are but young children spiritually. We should be continually growing in our faith. 1 Peter 2:2 & 3 says, “Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.” To grow spiritually we need nutrition. We need to feed regularly on God’s word. Daily Bible reading and regular Bible study are the vital nutrients for our spiritual growth.

Are you growing in your faith? Are you getting the spiritual nutrients you need by reading and studying the Bible regularly?

I encourage you to commit yourself to a daily Bible reading time and to serving, worshipping, and obeying God so that you will keep growing in your faith.

“For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus,” Romans 15:4 & 5

Prayer: Heavenly Father, help my faith to grow. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
