Wednesday at the Well: 1 Peter 5:7 - Give Your Troubles to God

Updated: Mar 26, 2020

Bible Verses to Explore: 1 Peter 5:7

In today's Bible reading Peter wrote, "Cast all your anxiety on him [God] because he cares for you.”

Are you sad? Give your sorrow to God.

Are you worried? Give your worry to God.

Are you afraid? Give your fear to God.

Are you anxious? Give your anxiety to God.

It isn’t easy to let go of those things. They latch onto our minds like an octopus wrapping its tentacles around its prey.

However, you can let go of them. Give them to God. Nahum 1:7 says, “The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him.” Trust God to take

those sorrows, worries, fears, and anxieties from you. God won’t just take them, he’ll take care of them. Then he’ll replace them with comfort, encouragement, strength, and peace.

What if they try to creep back into your mind again?

Give them to God again – and again, if necessary.

Let’s pray.

Heavenly Father, here are my troubles…You can have them. Thank You for caring for me. In Jesus' name. Amen.
