God Has a Job for You

Updated: Mar 26, 2020

Bible Reading: 1 John 1:9

Moses was tempted to try to earn the respect of the Hebrews by killing an Egyptian.

David was tempted to commit adultery with Bathsheba.

Peter was tempted to try to impress Jesus by promising loyalty to the death.

All three gave in to their temptations.

However, the Lord forgave them all. He used all three to do his work in a special way.

Moses led the Israelites out of 400 years of slavery and into the freedom of the Promised Land.

David was the greatest king that Israel ever had.

Peter preached the Good News about Jesus to thousands of people in the early church.

Have you given in to temptation? Do you feel like a failure, certain that God could never use you to do His work again?

Think again. 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” If you go to God earnestly asking His forgiveness, He will forgive you and then He’ll give you a job to do. A job chosen especially for you.

“‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’” Jeremiah 29:11

Prayer: Heavenly Father, forgive me and put me back to work for You. I want to do whatever it is You have planned for me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
