Wednesday at the Well: Psalm 19:9 & 10 - Chocolate Cake

Updated: Mar 26, 2020

Bible Verses to Explore: Psalm 19:9-10

I love chocolate cake! I enjoy eating almost any cake, but I have a recipe for a "Deep, Dark Chocolate Cake" that is especially sweet. I can only eat a small piece of this cake each

time. Why? It is very sweet. This chocolate cake is also very delicious! I always want to go back for more.

Psalm 19:10 describes God's word, the Bible, this way: "His teachings are worth more than pure gold. They are sweeter than the best honey dripping from the honeycomb." In other words, the Bible is like that "Deep, Dark Chocolate Cake."

The Bible is so full of sweet words and wonderful messages that I feast on it every day, yet I never seem to get enough. I am eager to go back to that delicious book for

seconds . . . and thirds . . . and fourths! The Bible connects me directly to God. God’s words are written in the Bible for me – and for you – to feast on and enjoy! We can go back to the Bible again and again and indulge ourselves and never gain weight! The Bible is sweeter than the sweetest chocolate cake.

When was the last time you feasted on the sweet Word of God?

How about having another portion right now?

Let’s pray. Heavenly Father, fill us with Your Word. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Keep the words of Psalm 119:103 in mind as you download the Inductive Study Guide and taste more of the sweetness of God’s word. Here’s what that verse says: “How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!”
