Wednesday at the Well: Ephesians 6:10-18 - Spiritual Bones

Updated: Mar 26, 2020

Bible Verses to Explore: Ephesians 6:10-18

Our bones give our bodies strength. Without them, we would look like a pile of jelly. We wouldn’t be able to stand or walk. We would be shapeless, limp, and weak. Healthy

food and exercise help to keep our bones strong.

God has given us spiritual “bones”. What are these bones? The Armor of God. Ephesians 6:11 tells us that we should “Wear the full armor of God. Wear God's armor so that you can fight against the devil's clever tricks.” God’s armor helps us to resist temptation. It strengthens our spiritual walk. God’s armor changes us. It shapes our lives. It makes us more like Jesus. It gives us the strength we need to stand strong against Satan’s attacks. Paul warns us in Ephesians 6:13 that we need to “get God's full armor. Then on the day of evil you will be

able to stand strong. And when you have finished the whole fight, you will still be standing.”

Eating the Bread of Life – God’s Word – will keep our spiritual bones strong. Exercising our spiritual responsibilities – serving, helping others, loving others, praying, and listening to God – will keep our spiritual bones strong, too.

I hope you are keeping your physical bones strong.

I also hope you are keeping your spiritual bones strong.

Please pray with me. Heavenly Father, show me what exercise I need to do to keep my spiritual bones strong. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

I hope you enjoyed this devotional. I also hope you will download the Inductive Study Guide (click the logo) and take a little more time to explore The Armor of God and Ephesians 6:10-18.
