Bible Reading: Deuteronomy 11:18
Create a “mental scrapbook” filled with special memories of your friends and family and their walk with Christ.
Now, take a small diary or spiral notebook and make the rounds of all of your friends and family asking each person to write his or her favorite Bible verse on a fresh page in your diary or notebook and sign his or her name.
Keep your “memory verse memories” scrapbook in a convenient place.
Memorize the verses and the name that goes with each verse, one or two verses at a time to create a “mental scrapbook” in your mind. As you do this, you will be living the words of Deuteronomy 11:18 which says, “Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.” You will be writing God’s words on your heart and your mind.
In the future, when you hear one of those verses read or God brings one to your mind, you will not only be nourished, encouraged, and strengthened by God’s Word. You will also be blessed with a special memory of some special person in your life.
“My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart.” Proverbs 3:1
Prayer: Heavenly Father, bless my friends and family and help all of us to write Your words on our hearts and our minds. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
