Bible Verses to Explore: 2 Timothy 3:16 & 17

Do you believe that the whole Bible is true?

Do you like to believe the parts of the Bible that say nice things like, "God is love," "He will give you the desires of your heart," and "Ask and it will be given to you"?

Do you find it hard to accept the passages that give you God’s rules for godly behavior or that say God created the whole world in just seven days?

Would you rather not think about the parts of the Bible that talk about Hell or say that God will judge sin?

The Bible is God’s Word to us. In 2 Timothy 3:16 Paul tells us, "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness." We can’t choose which parts to believe and accept as true and then toss the rest aside just because we don’t like what it says, we don’t want to believe it, or we think it is too hard to obey. When we accept one part of the Bible as being true and inspired by God, we must accept it all.

Are you going to believe and accept the entire Bible as being God’s inspired Word to

you? Before you answer, I hope you will keep Jesus’ words in John 12:48 in mind: “There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words; that very word which I spoke will condemn him at the last day.”

Let’s pray. Heavenly Father, thank You for the truth of Your Word. In Jesus' name. Amen.
