Bible Reading: Mark 8:27
Probably the hardest part of sharing our faith in Jesus with other people is just getting the conversation started.
In Mark 8:27, Jesus demonstrated one of the best and easiest ways to start a conversation. Read this verse and see if you can spot what Jesus did: “Jesus and his disciples went on to the villages around Caesarea Philippi. On the way he asked them, ‘Who do people say I am?’”
Did you see it? What did Jesus do?
Jesus simply asked a question.
Below are some questions that you can use to start a conversation about Jesus. Or, if you prefer, you can think of a question of your own. Whatever question you use should be worded in a way that requires thought and a detailed answer. Avoid “yes” and “no” questions. The important thing is that you start a conversation about Jesus with the people around you. Don’t hesitate. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be ashamed. Take a step of faith and ask a question today.
* Who do you think Jesus is?
* What do you think of what the Bible says about Jesus?
* What do you think about the Bible?
* How does God fit into your life?
* What are your thoughts on heaven and hell?
* How important are spiritual things in your life?
“I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.” Romans 1:16
Prayer: Heavenly Father, give me courage to start a conversation about Jesus with someone today. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
