Wednesday at the Well: Romans 12:1 & 2 - What Is Worship?

Updated: Mar 26, 2020

Bible Verses to Explore: Romans 12:1 & 2

Worship means spending time with God, praising His greatness, thanking Him, and listening to His wisdom. Going to church and tithing are two ways we worship God.

There are many other ways you can worship God. You can read and study God’s Word. You can write down the things you talk to God about and the ways He answers your prayers. You can write a psalm. (A psalm is a song that thanks God, tells Him about why you are happy or sad, or tells God how wonderful He is.) You can volunteer to serve other people in some way, maybe in a nursing home or the church nursery. You can sing your favorite choruses while you work. You can make a list of all the things you find great about God then read your list to Him. You can write God a letter telling Him why you love him. You can write a prayer. You can tell a friend about Jesus. You can draw a picture of something you are thankful for or something that God created that amazes you.

I hope you choose one or more of these ways to worship God. I also hope you find more ways to worship God. “Worship the Lord in all his holy beauty” (Psalm 29:2), it’s as simple as that.

Let’s pray together. Heavenly Father, help us to always take time to worship You and enjoy being with You. In Jesus name. Amen.
