Bible Reading: Psalm 119:15, 16
Daily devotions are more than just reading a few verses in the Bible. Daily devotions are a chance for you to get to know more about God and the Bible. They give you the
opportunity to deepen your understanding of your Christian heritage. They give you the opportunity to learn more about God’s plan for your life. Daily devotions remind you to take time to talk to God, to confess your sins, thank him for your blessings, and tell Him your needs and the needs of others.
Daily devotions also give God the chance to talk to you. If you approach your daily time with God with an open mind and a teachable spirit, God can point out areas of sin or weakness in your life. Daily time with God allows Him to show you what changes need to be made in your life. He can help you see what you need to do to enrich your walk with Christ and become more like Him. The key is having a teachable heart and allowing God to teach you.
Are you taking advantage of the opportunity to receive all of these benefits? If so, you will be able to confidently say, as the psalmist said in today’s Bible reading, “I meditate on your precepts and consider your ways. I delight in your decrees; I will not neglect your word.”
“Oh, how I love your law! I meditate on it all day long.” Psalm 119:97
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I enjoy our time together every day. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
