Bible Reading: Hebrews 10:22
Do you think that you have sinned so much or so badly that God could never – would never – forgive you?
Hebrews 10:22 says, “Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith...” That verse makes it clear: God still loves you and that He is always willing to forgive you when you come to Him sincerely seeking His forgiveness. Isn’t that reassuring? You and I can never do anything so terrible that it can make God stop loving us or cause Him to refuse to forgive us.
Do you want more reassurance? Read the following verses. Let God, Himself, give you the assurance of His unconditional love and eternal forgiveness:
“Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved…” (Mark 16:16).
“The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children” (Romans 8:16-17).
“In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence” (Ephesians 3:12-13).
“Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:6).
“We know that we live in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit” (1 John 4:13).
If you have given your life to God, He offers these words to assure you that you are saved.
If you haven’t yet given your life to God, He offers these words to assure that He will save you, if you ask.
“I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.” (1 John 5:13)
Prayer: Heavenly Father, Thank You for reassuring me of Your love for me and Your willingness to forgive me, no matter what I’ve done. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
