Wednesday at the Well: Ecclesiastes 3:1-16 - Time

Updated: Mar 26, 2020

Bible Verses to Explore: Ecclesiastes 3:1-16

Is your calendar so full you can barely find the dates on it? What is taking up all of your time? Maybe, when you look at your calendar it’s filled with all kinds of good things –

but are they the best?

If God e-mailed you with a big project that He wanted you to do, would you have time to do it? If God picked you to do the project, you can be sure He thinks His project is the best opportunity of your life. Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens..." and in Proverbs 16:4 we read, “The Lord has a plan for everything.” God wants us to follow His plan. God believes His plan for you is the most important thing you could do and that you are the best person to do that job.

God expects us to help with the work that needs to be done. He expects that everything we do will honor Him. God also expects to learn the difference between a good

use of our time and talents and the best use of our time and talents. What is the best use of our time and talents? Doing God’s work.

I hope you are busy doing God’s work. I also hope you will remember Paul’s words in Colossians 3:17 – “Everything you say and everything you do should be done for Jesus your Lord. And in all you do, give thanks to God the Father through Jesus.”

Let’s pray.

Heavenly Father, give us the wisdom to know what is Your best for our lives. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

I hope you will honor God, download the Inductive Study Guide, and spend some of your valuable time with Him exploring Ecclesiastes 3:1-16. As you do, I would like you to remember two things…

First when you take time or make time to do these Bible studies, you are doing it to honor God, learn about Him and His way of life, and to enjoy basking in His presence, not to please me or increase my blog’s popularity. This blog is about the journey that you and I have with God, it’s not about me nor my blog.

Second, God wants to spend time with you. He longs for that. He created you so He could spend time with you while you live here on earth and for all eternity in His home in heaven. I pray that you have confessed your sin, accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, and given Him all of your life. Now, please, give Him a few minutes of your time today and enjoy your study of His word.
