Bible Reading: John 14:5-14
Today’s Bible reading begins with this question asked by Thomas: “Lord, we don't know where you are going, so how can we know the way?”
In the following verse, Jesus gave this answer: ‘" am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’”
Jesus had been telling His disciples that He was going to be leaving them soon. He would be returning to His “Father’s house” – heaven – to get things ready for their arrival.
The disciples were confused when Jesus told them that they knew the way to His Father’s house. They needed Jesus to explain to them how to get to His Father’s house, so Thomas asked, “…how can we know the way?”
Jesus told them that He – Jesus – was the way to His Father’s house.
Are you looking for the Way to heaven? Jesus has given you the directions. The Way to heaven is through Jesus. You need to believe that Jesus died because of the wrong things that you’ve done. You need to believe that He rose from the dead and is now in heaven, in His Father’s house, waiting for you to ask for His forgiveness for the wrong things that you’ve done. When you do, you will know that you have found the Way to the Father’s house where you will someday go to be with Jesus forever.
“That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I’m sorry for all of the wrong things that I’ve ever done. Forgive me. I want to be with Jesus in the Father’s house. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
