Bible Reading: 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
Jesus came to earth for the first time over 2,000 years ago. When He came, He came as a helpless baby. He willingly lived 33 years then allowed men to nail Him to a cross to
die in our place. He then raised to life and went to heaven.
One day – it could be soon – Jesus will come to earth again. In 1 Thessalonians 4:16 & 17, Paul described Jesus return saying, “For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.” Jesus’ return will happen suddenly, so suddenly that the Apostle Paul described Jesus’ return as happening, “ in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye” (1 Corinthians 15:52).
When Jesus comes, He will claim all of the people who have believed in Him and what He did when he came to earth the first time. Then Jesus will take the people who have believed back to heaven with Him forever.
Jesus could come back at any moment. Are you ready?
“Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done.” Revelation 22:12
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I believe Jesus came to earth once and died for my sins. Forgive my sins. I want to be ready when Jesus comes again. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
