Turn Around

Updated: Mar 26, 2020

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 2:27

During Jeremiah’s day, people were running away from God. They looked to things like false gods, idols (statues), sex, entertainment, and music to find happiness. In

Jeremiah 2:27b Jeremiah wrote, “They have turned their backs to me and not their faces; yet when they are in trouble, they say, `Come and save us!'” The people had turned their backs on God.

Today, many people are still running away from God. They look to thinks like money, computers, TV, music, sex, drugs, and many other things to try to find happiness. They, too, have turned their backs on God. Peter said this about such people in 2 Peter 2:21, “It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them.”

I hope you aren’t one of those people, but, if you are, please, stop ignoring God’s attempts to get you turn around and face The One who can give you true happiness. Please, turn around. Face God and ask Him to forgive you. Run into His arms and claim the salvation and eternal happiness that only the True God can give.

“For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.” 2 Timothy 4:3

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I’m sorry that I’ve been running away and ignoring You for so long. Forgive me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
