Bible Reading: Psalm 56:11
Why aren’t you obeying God? Why are you putting off doing the things that you know He wants you to do? Why are you continuing to do things that you know God
dislikes?
Are you afraid of what people might think or say if you began living God’s way? Are you afraid of what people might think or say if you stopped “looking out for #1”, got rid of harmful habits, started treating people – especially those you dislike – with respect?
What is it that you think people will do to you that is so scary that it is keeping you from serving God with your whole heart?
Jesus was beaten, ridiculed, spit on, laughed at, and executed. He didn’t let fear stop Him from doing what God sent him to earth to do. Jesus didn’t let fear stop Him from showing that He loved us by being punished for our sins.
Are you going to let fear keep you from serving God and showing Him that you love Him? Whatever it is, let it go. Hand it over to God. Take the words of the psalmist in Psalm 56:11 to heart – “In God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?” – and courageously live for the Lord!
“Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.” Matthew 10:28 & 29
Prayer: Heavenly Father, give me the courage to serve You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
