Wednesday at the Well: Matthew 28:16-20 - Tell Everyone!

Updated: Mar 26, 2020

Bible Verses to Explore: Matthew 28:16-20

Telling people about Jesus can seem scary. Why? Sometimes we are afraid people will tease us. Sometimes we are afraid we will lose our friends. Sometimes we become

afraid that people won’t like us. Sometimes we might be afraid they won’t like Jesus.

It is important to tell people, “Hey! Jesus loves you. Jesus wants to save you.” The Bible tells us not to be afraid of the things people might do to us. We need to trust God to take care of people who tease us, hurt us, abandon us, or hate us because we serve Jesus. Our friends and neighbors need to know about Jesus. It is up to us to tell them about him. We are responsible for every opportunity we have to share Christ. Jesus will judge those opportunities. If you take advantage of those opportunities to tell people about Jesus, he will reward you in heaven.

Never let other peoples’ opinions scare you. Helping people understand that Jesus

is the way to heaven is important. Tell your friends, neighbors, everyone you meet about Jesus. Remember, if you are a child of God and claim Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, telling people about Jesus isn't optional. It is a command from Jesus, Himself. He said in Matthew 28:19 & 20, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

It doesn’t matter if people think you are silly or strange because you talk about Jesus. Be brave. Remember, as the writer of Hebrews 13:6 said, “…say with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?’” Go for it! Tell everyone about Jesus!

Heavenly Father, give us the courage to do what is right. Help us tell other people about Jesus. In Jesus' name. Amen.
