Share Your Faith

Bible Reading: 1 Timothy 4:12

1 Timothy 4:12 says, “Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.” It doesn’t matter

how old you are, Paul’s admonition to “set an example” applies to you. Each one of us is to serve God, share Jesus Christ, learn about Him, and live a life of faith and purity.

One way to serve God, share Christ, learn more about Him, His Word, and His plan for your life at the same time is to teach other people. Sharing God’s Word and the lessons it teaches with other people is one of the best ways of serving God. So, why not consider leading a Bible study?

Teaching other people requires you to spend time getting to know God’s Word better. Nearly everyone who has taught the Bible agrees that they learned more about the Bible preparing to teach than they learned studying on their own. There is something about preparing to teach that increases the amount of what we remember about what we’ve studied.

Interested but not sure where to begin?

* Ask your pastor for topic ideas and guidance in preparing. He will be happy to help you.

* Ask God to teach you and help you prepare. God always wants sharing His Word to be successful.

* Keep it simple. You don’t have to be a minister or theology professor to share the truths of the Bible.

* Share from your heart. Your personal testimony or other topic that you are passionate about makes for a great beginning for sharing God’s Word with others.

“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15

Prayer: Heavenly Father, give me the courage I need to begin sharing your Word with other people. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
