Bible Reading: Revelation 22:16

When the sun is shining, we can see clearly. We can see every tree, every stone, and every flower that lies in our path. The brightness of the sun allows us to pick our way

around dangers like potholes or tree roots so that we can safely arrive at our destination. Sunlight helps us to see clearly the right path to take.

In Revelation 22:16 Jesus says, “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.” (Emphasis added.) As the “bright and Morning Star” Jesus is the source of all light. The Light has given us a clear view of Jesus’ first coming to earth. We can see the truth about His death and resurrection. The Light gives us a clear view of our need for forgiveness. It shows us how to avoid the dangers of this sin-filled world and gives us a brightly-lit path to follow so that we can reach the safety of heaven. The Light also allows us to clearly see the truth about Jesus’ Second Coming. The clear, bright Light helps us to see the signs that indicate that His return to earth is near.

If you haven’t accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, come out of the darkness and let the Light shine brightly in your life. Accept Jesus as your Savior today.

If you are already a believer, you have the light of Jesus in your life, so, live in the Light!

“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light.” Ephesians 5:8

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for Jesus. Help me to live in the Light. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
