Bible Verses to Explore: 2 Timothy 4:1 & 2
Suppose your best friend had received a wonderful prize or won a special award, would want him tell you the good news?
Yes!
We all love to hear good news. We also love to tell people good news.
As a Christian, you have received the most wonderful gift anyone could possibly receive: salvation through Jesus. Isn’t that wonderful news? The news about that wonderful gift should be shared. Don’t keep it to yourself. We should follow Paul’s advice to Timothy in verse 2 of today’s reading and, “Tell everyone God’s message.”
What exactly is God’s message of good news that we should be telling to everyone
we meet? 1 Corinthians 15:3 & 4 summarizes the good news all Christians should share with other people, “…that Christ died for our sins, as the Scriptures say; that he was buried and was raised to life on the third day…”
Why should we share that good news? Because the Bible tells us, “If you openly say, ‘Jesus is Lord’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from death, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9). God wants everyone to know and believe the good news about Jesus.
I hope you will share the news about God’s free gift of salvation with everyone around you. Then follow Jesus’ instructions in Matthew 28:19, “So go and make followers of all people in the world. Baptize them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.”
Let’s pray.
Heavenly Father, Thank You for Jesus. He is a wonderful gift! Help us to share Him with everyone we meet. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
