Birth Stories - A Unique Look at the Birth of Christ - Part 14: Birth of the King of kings

Updated: Mar 26, 2020

(We are taking a break from our Wednesday at the Well Bible studies because I know time is often limited during the Thanksgiving and Christmas season. Wednesday at the Well will resume after Christmas. Have a Blessed Thanksgiving, a Merry Christmas, and a Wonderful New Year! - Gayle)

Bible Reading: 1 Timothy 6:11-16 & Revelation 17:14

Today is the last day in our series on Jesus’ birth story.

On that first Christmas, a King was born. That King is Jesus. This King isn’t an

ordinary king. 1 Timothy 6:15b says Jesus is the “is the King of all kings and the Lord of all lords.”

Human kings are born in palaces. King Jesus was born in a stable.

Human kings make mistakes. King Jesus is perfect.

Human kings can be selfish. King Jesus is selfless.

Human kings are corruptible. King Jesus is incorruptible.

Human kings rule over one country. King Jesus rules over the whole world.

Human kings are temporary. King Jesus is King forever.

Up to now, many people have rejected Jesus as King. Someday, that will change. Someday, everyone will recognize that Jesus is King over all people. Someday, everyone will worship and honor Jesus. Someday, all of God’s enemies, including the devil, will be defeated “because he [Jesus] is Lord of lords and King of kings. And with him will be his chosen and faithful followers—the people he has called to be his.”

Praise the Lord! Let’s all take time this Christmas to worship and adore the King of all kings that was born on that first Christmas – Jesus Christ!

“And the Lord will be the King of the whole world. At that time all people will worship him as the only Lord with only one name.” Zechariah 14:9

Prayer: King Jesus, I praise You! May all glory and honor be Yours this Christmas and forever! In Jesus' name. Amen.
