Birth Stories - A Unique Look at the Birth of Christ - Part 12: Birth of the Lord

Updated: Mar 26, 2020

(We are taking a break from our Wednesday at the Well Bible studies because I know time is often limited during the Thanksgiving and Christmas season. Wednesday at the Well will resume after Christmas. Have a Blessed Thanksgiving, a Merry Christmas, and a Wonderful New Year! - Gayle)

Bible Reading: Romans 5:1-5

Often, when we talk about Jesus’ birth, we talk about the humble, helpless baby. Yes Jesus was born as a humble, helpless baby. Jesus was also born Lord over all people.

A lord is a person who has authority, control, and power over other people.

When we accept Jesus as our Savior, Jesus becomes our Lord. When we accept Jesus as our Savior we are saying we want Jesus to be in control of our lives. We are willing to allow Jesus to have authority over our lives.

Some people don’t want to give Jesus control of their lives. They think that if they allow Jesus to be Lord of their lives, they will be limited.

That’s not true. When Jesus becomes our Lord, we become free. We are free to live without fear, without worry, and without nervousness. We are free to live wonderful, exciting lives that honor God and fill us with contentment.

Romans 5:1 says, “We have been made right with God because of our faith. So we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” When we have Jesus as our Lord, we have true peace in our hearts.

Praise God for the Lord Jesus Christ!

“God has spoken to the people of Israel. He sent them the Good News that peace has come through Jesus Christ, the Lord of all people.” Acts 10:36

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for the peace I have through my Lord, Jesus Christ. In Jesus' name. Amen.
