Birth Stories - A Unique Look at the Birth of Christ - Part 4: Birth of a Shepherd

Updated: Mar 26, 2020

(We are taking a break from our Wednesday at the Well Bible studies because I know time is often limited during the Thanksgiving and Christmas season. Wednesday at the Well will resume after Christmas. Have a Blessed Thanksgiving, a Merry Christmas, and a Wonderful New Year! - Gayle)

Bible Reading: John 10:11-16

We often read about the shepherds’ visit to the stable to see baby Jesus on that first Christmas. Did you know that when those shepherds visited baby Jesus they were visiting

another shepherd?

Jesus said in John 10:11, “I am the good shepherd, and the good shepherd gives his life for the sheep.” Jesus was born to be our Shepherd. He was born to guide us, protect us, and care for us while we are here on earth. He was also born to lead the way to heaven where the Good Shepherd will care for and protect us eternally.

Would you like to experience the guidance, protection, and care of the Good Shepherd? Ask Jesus to be your Lord and Savior. Ask Him to forgive your sins. Welcome the Good Shepherd into your life and He will welcome you into His sheepfold!

“Then when Christ the Ruling Shepherd comes, you will get a crown—one that will be glorious and never lose its beauty.” 1 Peter 5:4

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for the guidance, protection, and care of the Jesus, the Good Shepherd. In Jesus' name. Amen.
