Bible Reading: Psalm 33:8 & 9
Today’s Bible verses, Psalm 33:8 & 9 say, “Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the people of the world revere him. For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood
firm.” (Emphasis added.)
Notice that today’s verse says God “spoke and it came to be,” not God “spoke and it evolved.” The Bible teaches that God created the world. God had a specific plan and He acted on that plan to create the earth and the rest of our universe perfectly and completely. Creation was God’s idea.
It takes faith to believe that God, whom we can’t see, created everything in the universe out of nothing.
It takes even more faith to believe that the perfect order and design of everything in the universe could have created itself or “just happened” to come to exist. That is exactly what evolution expects of us. Evolution is a theory. There is no scientific proof of evolution and no way to scientifically recreate the beginning of the world to prove the theory of evolution. In order to believe in evolution, a person has to accept the theory of evolution by faith. That makes evolution a belief, a religious belief, not a fact. The theory of evolution is man’s idea.
Now, what do you believe – that God created the world, or that it “just happened”? In whose word are you placing your faith – God’s or man’s?
“You alone are the LORD. You made the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to everything, and the multitudes of heaven worship you.” Nehemiah 9:6
Prayer: Heavenly Father, your works are too incredible to have just happened! I know You are the Creator of the universe. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
