Wednesday at the Well: Mark 8:29 - Ice Breakers (Part 2)

Updated: Mar 26, 2020

Bible Verse to Explore Mark 8:29

Mark 8:29 says, “‘But what about you?’ He [Christ] asked. ‘Who do you say I am?’” What an intriguing way to start a spiritual conversation!

Before we can tell people about Jesus, we have to get the conversation going. Once we have the conversation started, we can let it lead the way to telling people about Jesus’ sacrifice and offer of forgiveness and salvation.

Here are a few more ways to break the ice and start a spiritual conversation:

What’s your opinion of . . .

God?

Jesus?

Creation?

The Bible?

Do you believe in . . .

Heaven?

Hell?

I think heaven must be a beautiful place, don’t you?

Have you ever wondered how God ever came up with so many different kinds of

Trees?

Birds?

Flowers?

Have you ever listened to . . .

Stephen Curtis Chapman?

Rebecca St. James?

Newsboys?

Do you ever think about . . .

Heaven?

Hell?

God?

What the Bible says?

Do you think you are spiritual?

Do you go to church?

What do you think happens to people when they die?

What do you think a real Christian is?

Do you believe in eternal life?

Now you have a few ways to start a spiritual conversation with your friends. Try one of them today or create your own. Follow the advice found in Psalm 25:28 and use your tongue to “… speak of your [God’s] righteousness and of your [God’s] praises all day long.” Psalm 35:28

Heavenly Father, help us choose the right words to use to tell our friends about You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

I hope you will now click on the logo, download the Inductive Bible Study outline, and explore today’s verse more carefully so you can better prepare yourself to break the ice and tell people about Jesus.
