Here's Your Assignment - God

Updated: Mar 26, 2020

Bible Reading: Genesis 12:1

When Abram was 75 years old, God came to him with a special job assignment saying to him, “Leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the

land I will show you” (Genesis 12:1). God wanted Abram to pack up his family and all he owned and move to a country that Abram had never before seen.

Abram didn’t question God’s plan. It didn’t matter to Abram that he didn’t understand why God wanted him to move or why God chose Canaan as Abram’s new home. Abram simply obeyed God by packing up and moving.

How would you have reacted if you have been the one to whom God had given such an assignment?

God has a special job assignment for you. What is it? Are you doing it willingly, trusting God for the outcome?

Remember the words of Paul in Colossians 3:17, “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him” and get busy with the job assignment that God has given to you.

“But someone will say, ‘You have faith; I have deeds.’ Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do.” James 2:18

Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to understand the job that you want me to do, then help me to get busy doing it. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
