Wednesday at the Well: Romans 5:15-21 - Grace Part 2

Updated: Mar 26, 2020

Bible Verses to Explore: Romans 5:8-21

Grace is God giving us something that we don’t deserve: forgiveness of our sins and eternal life in heaven. Did God wait to offer us grace after we believed in Him and His Son,

Jesus? No. God provided grace before we admitted that He was real. God made a way for us to be forgiven and go to heaven before we let Him become a part of our lives. Romans 5:8 says, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Before we loved God, He showed His love for us. God offered grace to us while we were still sinners rebelling against Him.

Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.” We

can’t earn or buy God’s forgiveness or our salvation. When we ask God to forgive our sins and tell Him we believe Jesus died for us, God forgives our sins and gives us eternal life even though we don’t deserve it. That’s grace. Grace is the biggest expression of God’s love for us.

Have you asked Jesus to be your Savior? Have you accepted God’s grace? If not, please accept God’s grace, His forgiveness and salvation today.

Heavenly Father, We know we can’t save ourselves. We know that Jesus is the only way to receive your grace. Thank You for the salvation and eternal life that we have through Jesus. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
