God's Special Treasure

Updated: Mar 27, 2020

Bible Reading: James 1:18

We are certainly special to God. He chose to send Jesus, His only Son, to die in our place so that He could “give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of

firstfruits of all he created” (James 1:18).

The “firstfruits” are the first and best crops from the field or vineyard. When God says that we are the firstfruits of His creation, He means that we are His most valued possessions. We are His special treasures.

In fact, we are so special to God that once we belong to Him, He wants to keep us for Himself. He doesn’t want to share us with anyone or anything that could hurt us or try to pry us away from Him.

Would you like to become one of God’s treasures?

Admit that you have sinned. Believe that Jesus was punished for your sins. Claim Jesus’ death as the punishment for your sins. Decide today to let God’s Holy Spirit come live in your heart. Enter a new life as a treasured “firstfruit” of God.

“Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.” Romans 8:23

Prayer: Heavenly Father, forgive me and send Your Spirit into my heart so that I will be one of God’s special treasures.
