In today’s Wednesday at the Well Inductive Bible Study we will explore Judges 14:1-20.
Do you enjoy having your own way? Suppose your way isn’t what is best for you?
Suppose God has wonderful things for you, things that are different than what you want. Would you still want your way or would you want God’s way?
Samson is an example of a man who wanted everything his way although his choices were not the best for Him. God had chosen Samson to be a special man and do a special job for God. Judges 13:5 said, “He will be God's special person from before he is born. He will save the Israelites from the power of the Philistines.” God used Samson to kill more than 3,000 Philistines. If Samson had obeyed God and allowed God to what was best for him, Samson could have done even greater things for God.
God wants to give you the best of everything for your life, but he can’t do that if you
refuse to allow Him to work in your life. Be like Jesus. Jesus gave up the things He wanted so God could use Jesus to give us the best things God has to offer. Be willing to let go of what you want so God can give you His best.
Let’s all have the same mindset as Jesus had when he prayed telling God to “…do what you want, not what I want” (Luke 22:42b).
Heavenly Father, help us let go of the good things in our lives so You can give us Your best. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
