Wednesday at the Well: Philippians 4:4-9 - Three Promises from God to Christians

Updated: Mar 27, 2020

Was today a bad day for you? Maybe the past week or month has been bad. Do you wonder, “Why does God allows us to struggle through so many difficult situations?”

That question is not easy to answer. We all have to face times of trouble, but God had made some promises to Christians, those who have confessed their sin and asked Jesus to be their Lord and Savior.

First, God has promised to be with us throughout all of life – good times and bad times, fun times and troubled times (Hebrews 13:5).

Second, God has promised to give us everything we need. That includes whatever we need to get us through life’s struggles (Philippians 4:9).

Third, God has promised to listen when we cry out to Him, telling Him about our struggles and asking for His help. That is the message of Philippians 4:6 which says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

God made those promises to His followers and God NEVER breaks a promise. Please remember the promise we have in 1 Peter 5:7 – “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” I encourage you to hold tight to God and his promises. He will help you. You can trust Him.

Let’s pray. Heavenly Father, I don’t understand why I struggle & worry, but I trust you to help me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Now, I want to encourage you to click on the Inductive Bible Study image, download the study guide, and explore Philippians 4:4-9 for yourself.
